Revelation 5 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Still looking into heaven, John sees Jesus — and all of heaven bursts into one great big song just for Him.

Today's Story

John was still looking into heaven. In God's hand was a special scroll, all rolled up and sealed shut. But nobody could open it. John started to cry, because it seemed like no one was good enough to open it.

Then a helper said to John, “Do not cry! Look — here is the One who can open it.”

And there was Jesus. The Bible calls Him the Lamb, because He gave up everything out of love for us. Jesus stepped forward and took the scroll. He was the only One good enough!

When Jesus took the scroll, all of heaven began to sing. The creatures and the helpers fell down and sang a brand-new song: “You are worthy! You are the best of all!”

Then John heard more voices join in — thousands and thousands and thousands of them, more than anyone could ever count. Every angel in heaven sang together, “Worthy is the Lamb! Praise and honor and glory belong to Jesus forever!”

It was the biggest, happiest song ever sung — and it was all for Jesus.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever cheered really loud for someone — maybe at a game or a show? What did it feel like?
  2. All of heaven cheered for Jesus because He is so good. What is something Jesus did that makes you want to cheer for Him?
  3. There were too many voices to count, all singing to Jesus. How does it feel to know you can join that great big song too?
