Gabriel answers her unspoken question gently: fear not, Mary. He calls her by name and repeats the heart of his greeting — she has found favour with God.
Found favour is the Bible's old phrase for those whom God draws into his purposes — Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD (Genesis 6:8).
