What Does Luke 23:9 Mean?
The man of many questions receives no word from the Word. Jesus had answered the council and would answer Pilate, but before Herod — who had heard John gladly and then beheaded him — he keeps a complete and sovereign silence.
Isaiah foretold a Servant who, oppressed and afflicted, “openeth not his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7).
