What Does Luke 24:50 Mean?
The risen Lord leads his followers out of the city toward Bethany, on the eastern slope of the mount of Olives — near where the triumphal entry began (Luke 19:29) — and there he lifts up his hands and blesses them.
Lifted hands are the gesture of priestly blessing (Leviticus 9:22), and these lifted hands bear the prints of the nails.
