What Does Micah 1:15 Mean?
Mareshah, whose name resembles the word for 'possessor' or 'heir,' will receive an unwelcome heir, a conqueror who claims it. The glory of Israel flees to Adullam, the very cave where David once hid as a fugitive.
The mention of Adullam stirs memory: there a future king once sheltered in weakness before rising to the throne. Even in a verse of loss, the echo of David hints that God's purposes are not finished. The flight of glory is not its end, for the Lord preserves a remnant and a hope.
