What Does Micah 1:4 Mean?
The imagery intensifies: solid mountains melt like wax, valleys tear open, water pours down a steep place. The most permanent features of creation dissolve before the presence of the Lord.
The point is the weight of His holiness. What we lean on as unshakeable is fragile before God. Yet this same searching presence, which melts every false security, is the ground on which the trusting heart finds rest. The terror of His coming and the safety of His people are two sides of one majesty.
