What Does Revelation 3:18 Mean?
Following His diagnosis, the Lord offers Laodicea the remedy, point by point answering their boasts. Against their wealth, He offers gold refined by fire; against their fine cloth, white raiment; against their famed eye medicine, salve that grants true sight. Each gift meets a need they did not know they had.
The counsel to buy of Him is gracious irony, for these riches cannot be earned, only received from His hand. True gold, the covering of righteousness, and opened eyes are all gifts of grace.
