What Does 1 Peter 3:12 Mean?
Peter closes the psalm quotation with assurance and warning held together. The Lord's eyes are upon the righteous, watching with care, and his ears are open to their prayers.
To the same God, the face turned toward evildoers is set against them. The believer who pursues good is never unseen; the watching eyes are attentive and the listening ears are open. Peter wants his readers, often unseen and unheard by the powerful around them, to know they are fully seen and heard by God. The good life is lived under a gaze of love, not indifference.
