So you are no longer a servant but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

What Does Galatians 4:7 Mean?

Paul draws the conclusion with joy. The believer is no longer a slave but a son. The whole movement of the chapter lands here: from bondage to sonship, from servitude to the freedom of the family of God.

And sonship carries inheritance. If a son, then an heir — an heir of God himself, through Christ. Everything the Father has prepared belongs to his children. The destitute slave has become a beloved heir, and all of it comes through Christ, not through the law.
