Context

This is God's response to Jeremiah's prayer, reaffirming His unlimited power just before He promises to restore the besieged people to their land.

What Does Jeremiah 32:27 Mean?

God affirms that He is Lord of all living things and asks whether anything is too hard for Him. This is God's direct reply to Jeremiah's prayer in verse 17, where Jeremiah had declared that nothing is too hard for God. Now God Himself takes up the same words, turning the statement into a question that expects the answer "no." The phrase "the God of all flesh" stretches His authority over every living creature -- not one people or nation, but all that lives. The question "is there any thing too hard for me?" is rhetorical and absolute: nothing lies beyond His power.

There is something deeply reassuring about hearing God confirm with His own voice what the believer dares to pray. Jeremiah had reasoned from creation to confidence; God now seals that confidence by personal declaration. As Lord of all flesh, He governs nations, armies, kings, and the smallest details of a single life. The context -- a besieged city and a promise of return -- shows this is not abstract theology but power committed to keeping His word. For the reader, it is an invitation to bring the impossible to the One who calls Himself the God of all flesh and answers His own question with limitless ability.

In the Original Language

The phrase "all flesh" is kol basar, every living creature. As in verse 17, "too hard" derives from pala, to be wonderful or extraordinary -- nothing is too wondrous for God to accomplish.

Application

Bring your impossible situations to the God of all flesh, trusting His own promise that nothing is beyond His power to accomplish.
