What Does Daniel 10:18 Mean?

For a second time the figure in the likeness of a man reaches out and touches Daniel, and this time the touch brings strength. What the vision had drained, the touch restores; Daniel is steadied and made able to stand and to hear.

God's strengthening often comes through repeated touches, not a single one. Daniel was lifted, then given speech, and now given strength, each grace meeting a fresh need. The Lord is patient with our weakness, returning again and again to supply what we lack. No one is strengthened once and for all; we are carried by a God who keeps reaching out, renewing His servants as often as their strength fails.
