What Does Ephesians 3:7 Mean?
Paul calls himself a 'minister' -- a servant of this good news. He did not promote himself to the role; he 'was made' one. His apostleship is itself a gift of grace, not a position he earned but a service into which God placed him.
His ministry came 'by the effectual working of his power.' The same divine power Paul prayed the church would know is the power that made and sustains his own service. He labors, but the strength is God's. Grace gave him the calling, and power enables him to fulfill it.
