What Does John 11:24 Mean?
Martha answers with the hope of her people, drawn from texts like Daniel 12:2 and Job 19:25-27: the dead will stand again at the end of days. It is sound faith — Jesus himself teaches it (John 5:28-29; 6:40) — but to her it feels far away, a comfort over the horizon.
